3...2....1...Blastoff!!!

We are heading to the Shuttle Discovery launch this weekend! As the Shuttle program nears it's end, I'm really trying to watch all of the launches that I can...it is such an amazing experience and so that I can try to share it with you, we're going to take a video camera and take a video so that you can see the launch and hear the engines rumble. The best part, though happens in person when you can actually feel the power of the engines in your chest. I LOVE the adrenaline rush that you get knowing that these brave souls are putting their lives at risk for the advancement of science and the human race. God Bless them and their loved ones. The launch is set for 5:07pm this Saturday with a launch window of 10 minutes. Along for the ride is a Buzz Lightyear (Toy Story) figurine which will be used to showcase weightlessness to elementary students across the world. Here are a few picutres that I captured on my digital camera during the last launch...they don't even do it justice.
